getting off soundtrack

7,8,9,10, 11 o'clock, and i'm rocking around the writer's block
getting increasingly irate and irrational - (though i can always be soothed by the national)
there's creativity somewhere, just have to let it out - listen harder for its inconveniently silent shout
so i'll search my little mind for that happy place, where the soundtrack always smacks a smile on my face
and instead of writing, probably stare into space.
